  • Why is a strong presence important for local businesses?
A strong presence is the first step toward success. With Listing Builder, your clients are getting the most essential set of tools they need to start building their online reputation. And after you give it to them—for free!—they’ll need more of your solutions to take their marketing to the next level.
  • Why is it important for local businesses to have a mobile optimized listing?
For SEO, priority is given to good customer experience on mobile devices. Consumers will use mobile devices to find desired goods or services and will generally begin these searches with a category or brand search. For example, a brand search is “Joe’s Pizza in Denver” and a category search is “Pizza in Denver”. (Note: On a mobile device the “in Denver” often does not need to be explicit.) In the case of a category search, the user has intent to purchase something in a category but has not decided or does not care about the brand. In these searches, the user’s intent is generally heavily skewed toward proximity and location. So search engines generally deliver the closest locations and it is therefore important that location information is crawlable, is displayed on each page, and is in meta-data and keywords.
  • Why am I not able to see the local SEO grid?
This feature is only available with Local SEO Pro. The local SEO grid is a powerful feature that allows you to pinpoint which keywords are performing well in Google organic search and Google Maps. You can use these keywords to inform your client's local SEO strategy and showcase improvements over time.
  • How can I track more than 15 keywords?
You can track more than 15 keywords by activating the "Add Keywords" add-on. Each activation will give you an additional 15 keywords, allowing you access to track 30, 45, 60 keywords, etc.
  • Can I change the radius of the local SEO grid?
The map radius will default to 1.25 miles but can be easily changed by clicking on the "Edit Keywords" button in the top right. Choose from 1.25, 2.5, 5, or 10 miles for larger cites.
  • What does the "started at" number mean in the Keyword Tracking tab?
The number you'll see under "Started at" shows the position of that particular keyword at the time that it was added. Keep in mind this number also changes based on the date picker you've selected. For example, if you added that keyword on January 1st, but your selected date range is March 1 - May 31, the "Started at" will show the rank on March 1st.
  • How often are listings sent to the data aggregators?
When a listing is created or modified in our system, the information is sent within 24 hours. The data aggregators receive this data and provide us with confirmation within 6-8 weeks. We also refresh your listing data once every month to ensure that aggregators always have the most accurate version of your listing.
  • What if a business has duplicate listings—how does Listing Distribution take care of those?
Listing Distribution does not delete duplicate listings. If you are interested in duplicate suppression, we encourage you to visit our Listing Sync Pro product.
  • How long does Listing Distribution take?
As soon as you enter your business information, we push it to the data aggregators. It can take 6-8 weeks for them to receive the information and ensure it is correct in their own databases. It is then up to the sites and sources to update their information from the data aggregators. They each query them at various intervals—some seek out the information weekly, monthly, etc. Therefore, the timeline for when a source picks up that information will vary greatly depending on their process for updating their data.
  • Why is Listing Distribution a yearly subscription?
Listing Distribution is a continual process that maintains and builds your web presence over time. Once the data aggregators have your correct business information, the rate at which sites reference this information varies. To ensure the widest span of information and amount of listings created, Listing Distribution needs to be activated for an extended period of time. Even if your business information is correct, listings can be eroded over time by user-generated content and other incorrect data. As long as your subscription is active, Listing Distribution refreshes your information with the data aggregators every week. Without this, there is a risk of allowing the current public data to change all of the value already established.
  • How is the “Expert’s choice” platform decided?
The platform(s) for “Expert’s choice” will be selected by our digital ads analyst and specialist teams based on expert opinion and research to best achieve the goals/KPI’s laid out by you. We'll take into account the vertical, budget, and the product or service being advertised.
  • How am I billed for these campaigns?
All campaigns are billed for Month 1 at the time of order, and will automatically renew monthly ongoing on the anniversary date of the order. Example: January 1st - Campaign is ordered. You are charged a one-time setup fee, monthly management fee, and wholesale ad spend for the first month. January 9th - Campaign is launched. February 1st - You are charged for the second month of the campaign and the monthly management fee. Campaigns will aim to spend the full amount for the month once the campaign launches. However, any unused spend will be rolled over to the next month.
  • How are campaigns optimized?
Automated bidding, built-in budget management, and smart optimizations allow for campaigns to be edited and optimized as they progress, making the most of your client's ad spend within the platform. Campaigns will be optimized according to their goals, budget, and platform needs.
  • What are audience segments and how many can my client have?
An audience segment narrows the target audience into subgroups to deliver more tailored messaging. They can be based on geographic location, gender identity, income, and more. Depending on the ad spend tier, your client will get 4-6 audience segments. The highest tier level receives a custom number of segments depending on the product/service and platform chosen.
  • How is reporting delivered?
Reporting will be shared via Advertising Intelligence, a live link accessible through Partner Center and Business App. Advertising Intelligence will be connected to your campaigns 1-5 business days post-campaign launch.
  • What is the cancellation or refund policy?
All cancellations must have a 5 day notice period. If the cancellation is submitted at the last minute and the renewal happens, we will run the campaign for the amount that was renewed until the end of the month. When that request is made, the digital ads team will spend the remainder of the ads dollars for that cycle, and they will not run the campaign the following month. You will need to cancel this product in the platform in order to ensure you are not charged again the following month.
  • What is the one-time setup fee and what is included in the charge?
The setup fee is the one-time cost of creating and launching the campaign. It includes the following: -Ad proofing -Tracking code setup & verification -Creative creation (when required) -Audience research (keyword and competitor) -Campaign audit & launch
  • What is the management fee and why am I charged a management fee for my campaign?
The management fee is a percentage charged on top of the monthly wholesale ad spend. This fee ensures our team can optimize, analyze, and report on the campaign each month.
  • How does the management fee work when I increase ad spend? Or add a Boost?
The Management Fee is a percentage based on the wholesale ad spend, and added on top of the spend. If the ad spend increases, you will see the exact dollar amount you will be charged for the management fees, whether this change comes from a Boost or Additional Spend.
  • What does the timeline look like from order submission to campaign launch?
Please refer to our Campaign Checklist PDF in the Screenshots & Files tab.
  • Will I be able to see my campaign within my own Ads Manager?
No, all campaigns will be run through our Ads Manager. Doing so allows us to ensure control of all aspects of the campaign and maintain white labeling.
  • If my client is already using a Meta Pixel, are we able to continue using this?
To use your client’s Meta Pixel, they will have to add our Business Manager ID to the Pixel. This ID number will be provided by our team upon request.
  • What price will my client see on the Ad Intelligence dashboard?
Your client will see the wholesale ad spend being spent on their campaign unless you change that by going into the "settings" feature and manually calculating the "Management Markup Fees."
  • Do you provide stock images for Meta & Instagram?
We can absolutely provide stock images if requested and required. However, we recommend that you provide professional images of the business to ensure an authentic and engaging campaign. Looking for additional custom graphics? Check out our Digital Ads: Creative product. Sold Separately.
  • How often can I make changes to my campaign?
Campaigns running on $500-$2999 or $3000+ budgets may get 1 or 2 rounds of free revisions, respectively. After launching the campaign, we recommend waiting 3 months before making any edits to the promotion, goals, creatives, etc., as those changes can impact the progress of the campaign. During this time, our specialists will be optimizing the campaign and may make minor adjustments to the ad copy, targeting, bids, etc. For creative edits that fall outside of this realm, you may purchase the Hourly Charge add-on to make adjustments to the campaign.
  • Why is my retail markup no longer displayed on Advertising Intelligence?
In order to meet compliance requirements for our advertising Vendors (Meta/Instagram and Google/Bing), Shattered Glass will no longer be responsible for configuring and implementing a markup on the data within our reporting platform. As a Partner, you have the ability to set the appropriate markup on the setting level of all Advertising Intelligence reports for your client.
  • What do we need to do to get started on a YouTube campaign?
You or your client will need to provide a URL link to the video hosted on your client’s existing YouTube channel, as well as the URL to the landing page for the ad (the page that your client would want people to be directed to when they click on the ad).
  • What happens if I don't use all of my ad spend? Will I get a refund of the unused spend?
No. Unused ad spend will not be refunded. When agreeing to a certain amount, we will always exhaust the entire campaign budget.
  • Do I need to provide any information?
For Meta Ads, we will need access to the local business's Meta Page through Meta Business Manager. Please ensure your client has the necessary access to approve Meta Business Manager Requests. If you have Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics, we will need you to provide us access. You can do so by adding "analytics@localmarketpage.com" as an admin user.

  • How does SEO improve my business?
SEO is tangible work being done to the website that strengthens its foundation and makes it more appealing to Search Engines. As a result, the website ranks higher and is more visible to prospective clients on Search Engines such as Google and Bing.
  • What is on-page vs off-page SEO?
Any work that’s done on the actual site such as, titles, tags, descriptions, content, website structure, etc., is known as On-Page. Any work not done directly on the website, such as blog writing, link building, social sharing, bookmarking, various content and more is known as Off-Page.
  • Should businesses do SEO if they already rank?
Absolutely! SEO is dynamic. Search rankings and results shift and change. What works today, may not tomorrow. Google is constantly updating and refining its algorithms. Also, as competition increases it’s important to stay on top of SEO so your website continues to be relevant. Good business websites are doing SEO constantly to maintain and continue improving their rankings. You may rank for your core terms, but it’s important to rank for secondary and tertiary terms as well.
  • Can anyone guarantee first page rankings?
No one can guarantee exactly where they will rank, but someone’s business is taking up the first page search engine real estate. By doing the right SEO work, at the correct pace, and in the proper manner, clients should expect great results.
  • What’s the difference between Local and National SEO?
If a business provides services nationwide it may try to rank for just the keyword. If it’s a local business, it would try to rank for the keyword + the geography. So, for e.g., a national chain of plumbing supplies provider would want to rank for ‘plumbing supplies’, while a local store that serves just Washington DC would want to rank for ‘plumbing supplies DC’. Local SEO is intended to get customers who live in the area to support that local business.
  • What are long tail keywords?
These are 3 and 4 letter targeted phrases that are beneficial to the client’s business. They can be easier to rank but also produce strong buying results because they often convert better than generic terms.
  • What’s the connection between GMB and Local SEO?
Google Business Profile is like a directory that maintains key business information such as name, address, phone, hours of operation, map, photos, videos, categories of business, forms of payment, etc. Google gives prominence to these listings and they show up on Google SERP’s and Google maps, both on desktop and mobile. Hence, having a fully completed and verified listing is very important and helps with rankings.
  • Can my business show up on Google Maps?
Yes, if all the relevant details are properly filled out on the Google Business Profile section and the site has been verified by Google, it can show on Google Maps. Adding in the extras, like videos, photos and getting reviews is advantageous to inclusion in this area of Google search.
  • How often does Google update its algorithms?
Google does not give direct answers to this, but every few months a major algorithm update seems to occur. In between, many small updates consistently appear. We track over 1 million key terms allowing us to quickly see fluctuations on a wide range of businesses. By seeing this, we can evaluate what’s working best and make adjustments to campaigns.
  • What are backlinks and why are they important?
These are links done offsite that signal search engines to the targeted website. There is a lot that goes into backlinking safely. The days of mass link building and black hat SEO are over. We take time and make sure the backlinks come from relevant sites that are true to the business. By doing strong backlink work, the client’s website should rank higher than their competition who is solely focused on on-page work.
  • What is guest blogging?
Writing interesting content on a guest blog is valuable to improve rankings. When the owner of the guest blog likes the content being written, they often include it on their own blog because they see its value to their visitors. This in turn can provide a backlink to our client’s website.
  • Do we integrate with Executive Report and Activity Stream?
    Yes!
  • What is reputation management?
The reputation of a business is both what they say about themselves and what others say about them. Managing a reputation is nothing new; what’s new is how the internet and social media have changed the way businesses are being defined and how fast their reputations spread. Reputation management is the process of monitoring and managing all the channels that affect a business's online reputation. That can include online reviews, online listings, Google Q&A, and
social media.
  • Why is it important to manage online listings?
Ensuring your business's online listings are accurate across a wide variety of websites is called presence management. Presence management ensures customers can find the right information about your business online. Correct and consistent listings across directories, review sites and social networks is crucial.
  • Why is it important to manage online reviews?
Eighty-four percent of people now trust online reviews from strangers as much as recommendations from friends. This means that whatever your customers are saying about your business online can affect the purchase decisions of many potential customers. Managing online reviews is crucial so businesses can understand the voice of their customer and respond quickly to both positive and negative feedback.
  • What if my Google Business Profile is currently owned by someone else?
In cases where the listing is currently owned by someone else, we will work with Google Support to gain access to the listing. If it’s not possible to get access to the listing, we’ll convene with you to discuss potential next steps.
